Every week, Julie Seltzer, artist and Torah scribe, bakes a challah depicting an aspect of the week's Torah portion.

He shall lay his hand upon the head of the burnt offering. (Leviticus 1:4)

The Kohen (priest) places his hand on the head of the sacrificial animal. As you can see from the challah, the priest wears special garb, including the hoshen (breastplate), and mitznefet (funny looking hat).
