Survivors vs. BMW

For a change, Michael Moore and my

in-laws are on the same side.

If you haven’t taken our poll yet, go do it. In the office today, we were arguing whether companies who were supported/funded/owned by the Nazis had paid back their debts–and how much is too much?

I said that Mercedes was a great example. Funded by the Nazis (they even built Nazi tanks), the company later did teshuvah, even kick-starting Israel’s automotive economy.

But, in the video shown below, fellow German auto giant BMW (and fellow recipient of Nazi generosity) has never paid out a single cent in recompensation to Holocaust survivors. BMW also still (as of the episode) refuses to pay survivors for the work they performed in camps as slave laborers. (If you’d rather read about it, just go here instead.)
