In my previous post on holiday rankings, I talked about how Yom Kippur, if nothing else, is a great time for personal reflection. Some people reflect and then go back to doing the same routine. Others actually take their reflections to heart.
One of those people is Norm Coleman, the Republican Senator from Minnesota. Coleman is currently in a tough race against the Democratic nominee, former SNL cast member and fellow Jew, Al Franken.
This past week, Coleman has announced that he is changing the focus of his campaign and will no longer be making negative ads. His reasoning? Yom Kippur allowed him to reflect on how he was running his campaign.
Even if you disagree with his politics, you have to admit, Coleman’s a mentsch.
