Zero Down, Forty-Nine To Go

I got a confession. Every year, it takes me approximately two days to forget to count the Omer. And that’s weird because it’s a countdown from my least favorite Jewish holiday (that thing that is starting tonight) to the Shane Battier of Jewish holidays, Shavuot.

If you’re like me, you no longer have reason to fear. Starting this Thursday night, when the Omer starts, and for the next 49 days, the MyJewishLearning homepage will have an Omer counter.

You may also see a “cute” picture that goes along with the corresponding day. So if you see a picture of “#1 Dad,” don’t freak out that you forgot to buy a Father’s Day gift. It’s actually just the first day of the Omer.

The Omer counter will appear on the bottom left hand corner of the page. Check it out!
