Luckily, I just found this awesome recipe for a cake called the Winning Hearts and Minds Cake. My plan is to make one for Shabbat, and keep one or two extras in my freezer to serve on rough days.

Perhaps I should send a few to DC? And to Wichita, and to my dad, and to my ex-boyfriend, and to the people of Pakistan, and, well, really, there are a lot of people who could use this cake these days.

Now, I recognize that some people think that food can’t solve the world’s problems, but those people aren’t Jewish women.
