Tough Jew Returns

We must be in a new age of Hollywood. Gone are the nebbishy Mel Brooks and Woody Allen films. They’ve been replaced by badass Jews.

We’ve seen this trend with movies like Inglorious Basterds, Munich, and Defiance. But just when you thought we were done, Hollywood is churning out another one.

The Debt, starring Helen Mirren, tells the story of a group of Jews who were hired by the Mossad to assasinate Joseph Mengele, the Nazi doctor who performed experiments on Jews during the Holocaust.

I’m all for killing Dr. Mengele (actually, I’m fine either way). But to use him as an excuse to make an action film? Let’s just say it better be good. Otherwise, it seems a bit cheap.

Here’s the trailer.
