Coastside Mussar Practicum

This Coastside Mussar Practicum compliments the Coastside Mussar Course offered on alternating Tuesdays. The Course provides students with a sound understanding of the history and principles of Mussar. The Practicum provides students with the opportunity to apply the principles and practices of Mussar through interactive havruta-style learning.

Rabbi Moshe Heyn

Moshe Heyn is a rabbi, musician, chaplain, surfer, and spiritual activist who practices and teaches a synthesis of humanism and mysticism. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and his Master’s degree and Rabbinic ordination from the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. In addition to his work as a Hospice Chaplain for VITAS Healthcare, Rabbi Heyn is proud to serve as the Spiritual Leader of the Coastside Jewish Community. In the development of his spiritual identity, Rabbi Heyn spent ten years studying and practicing Eastern approaches to spirituality before rediscovering his Jewish roots over thirty years ago. He is still discovering the depth of those roots each and every day.
