Performing the Patriarchs and Matriarchs: Writing Bibliodrama
Hosted By: Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan
Torah is filled with characters and conflicts that are ineffable and expressive; intimate and eternal. They have generated centuries of creativity in poetry and prose; fiction and nonfiction; media and matter. The beauty of these stories is their invitation to infinite unfolding. Whether Sarah, Hagar, Tamar or Rachel; Abraham, Joseph, Moses or Korach; these and scores of others inspire emotions, fantasies, and dreams connecting us to our ancestors and ourselves.
In this 4-part series, we will explore an open-ended, noncritical, and fun process of imaginative playtime, creating monologues, dialogues, stand-up, songs, and stories in personal and creative response to the sacred time and space of our tradition. Open to all learners.
