Rabbinic decisors (poskim) have shaped the contours of Halakhah over the generations with their determinations across Jewish law, including in complex and controversial cases. This series will analyze the process and methods of three such poskim who published responsa over the past two centuries – The Hatam Sofer, Hazon Ish, and Rav Ovadia Yosef.
This lecture series will be hosted by Dr. Devora Steinmetz, and guest lectures will include Rabbi Elli Fischer on the Hatam Sofer and Rabbi Dr. Richard Hidary on Rabbi Benzion Hai Uziel.
