Gates of Awe: Writing New High Holiday Liturgy

Hosted By: Ritualwell

Prepare for the High Holidays with an exploration of four treasures from Ritualwell’s High Holy Day Machzor with liturgist Alden Solovy. Their goal is to use classic prayer as writing prompts. Each 90-minute session focuses on one of four foundational prayers of the High Holy Days. Each session will also include time for writing, small group readings and discussion, as well as a wrap up. Participants will examine the Unetaneh Tokef (Power of the Day), Vidui (Confession), Kol Nidre (Release), and Avinu Malkeinu (Almighty and Merciful). The sessions will include exploration, conversation, writing, and exchange. After the final class on July 14th, you’ll have a month to polish your work after which participants will gather again on August 18th for a closing meeting where they will read and share their work and the journey.
