Biblical Views on Marriage and Sexual Relations

Hosted By: Haberman Institute

What does the Bible say about marriage and sex?

In biblical times a man could marry more than one woman and have concubines on the side. Prostitution was also part of the norm. These types of relationships were acceptable, and often one did not exclude the other! While sexual acts are not described explicitly in the Bible, we do find many related stories and discussions of what is prohibited and what is accepted. The Bible does elucidate a direct connection between sex and marriage.

In this class participants will study how the Bible defines and views marriage, the connections it makes between marriage and sex, along with which types of relations it permits.
