The Workers Circle Presents: Introduction to Jewish Genealogy with Alan Steinfeld

Hosted By: The Workers Circle

Have you thought about looking into your family tree? This four-session program is designed for beginner genealogists who want to learn more about how to start or continue their research. Participants will explore the reasons to study genealogy, how to gather, organize and store information, and how to preserve and present what you have learned.

Archival and internet sources including newspaper and cemetery references will be examined, with a focus on determining whether a document is accurate and relevant to your family’s story. Learn how to decide what records should exist for an ancestor and then how to go about finding the records. Participants will also discuss techniques for interviewing family members. This program is capped at 25 participants, so sign up early to secure your space.

Wednesdays 5:00 – 6:15 PM, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17
