Couples & Conversation: Interfaithless Edition

A lot of people talk about “interfaith” families, but what about couples and families that are “interfaithless”? This is a great program for couples who come from different religious/cultural backgrounds but see themselves as secular/atheist/agnostic/spiritual and not religious. We will talk about what challenges and, especially, opportunities exist for “interfaithless” partnerships and families.
Being part of an intercultural couple can be challenging, but you don’t need to find the answers alone. This workshop offers a safe environment to work on creating your religious/cultural lives together. It is intended for seriously dating, engaged and newly married Jewish/intercultural couples.
“Couples and Conversation” meets Wednesdays, February 2, 9, 16, and 23 at 7:00 PM ET and will be facilitated by Rabbi Denise Handlarski, 18Doors Rukin Rabbinic Fellow. The workshop is $54/couple and registration is required.
Couples are invited to participate if they are seriously dating, engaged or newly married, exploring the issue of religion/culture in their relationship, and:
-want to explore questions about their life together, including: How can we honor both of our heritages? How will we celebrate holidays and lifecycle events? How can we talk to parents and other relatives about issues related to our intercultural relationship?
-want to discuss and begin to make decisions about their cultural life together with support from other couples and a non-judgmental facilitator
-want guidance from a facilitator who has experience working with intercultural couples and helping them to address actual and potential challenges particular to them
-want to get to know and develop relationships with other intercultural couples who are thinking about similar issues
