Beverly Sky is an artist who is trained as a weaver and paper-maker. She has been specializing in pulp painting for several decades. Beverly taught off-loom techniques at the Vershire School in Vermont and moved to Japan in 1969 to study weaving and textile arts in Kyoto. She is the co-founder of Autumn Press, Inc., a publishing company specializing in books about Asia for the West. Upon returning to the USA, Beverly worked as a designer and Art-Director at Illuminations, Inc., a graphic arts publishing company. She is the founder of River Street Artists, Waltham, MA and a founding Member of Brickbottom Artists Buildings in Somerville. Beverly’s work in handmade paper is in the permanent collections of several museums, institutions and corporations. In 2011, she moved her studio to the Boston Center for the Arts and her artwork is now focused on fabric collage, commissioned artwork and public art installations. Beverly is currently working on a Holocaust memoir of her mother titled, “Remnants: One Family’s Experience of the Holocaust”.
