Getting (Un)Comfortable with Megillat Esther
Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning

Yet a closer look at this familiar story reveals some unsettling elements, among them the Persian culture that pervades the book and the uncomfortable position that the Jewish characters occupy within it. What does Esther suggest about Jewish peoplehood in the Diaspora and how does this reflect on Jewish identity in our own time?
