Series: The Many Facets of the Akeda (the Binding of Isaac)
Hosted By: Haberman Institute
The story of the binding of Isaac is one of the most theologically and psychologically significant narratives in the Torah. The story raises many difficult questions about God, Abraham, Isaac, and even when digging deeper, about Sarah. Echoes of this formative story are also found in the Christian New Testament and the Quran – offering theologians and philosophers challenges and opportunities for unique reflections.
This is the first of a four-part series. The class will take place on April 5, 12, 19, and 26.
