Our Stories, Our Bodies, Our Torah: Coming Together as a Community After Dobbs

This gathering welcomes women 12+ and learners of all backgrounds.

We want to lift up some beautiful and powerful voices of pastoral leadership so that we can all find the compassion we need. We want to make sure each of us feels seen and understood in this moment of upheaval. And we want to broaden our appreciation of the different facets of this moment and how others are experiencing it.

Rabbanit Aliza Sperling

Rabbanit Aliza Sperling, HerTorah Director, is a member of the faculty at Yeshivat Maharat and teaches Talmud at the Maharat-Yeshivat Chovevei Torah Beit Midrash Program. In addition to being the director of HerTorah, she serves as a Hartman research fellow and a Wexner faculty member. She received her ordination from Yeshivat Maharat and a JD from NYU Law School. She also authored a halachic analysis of whether a blind person may read Torah for the collective in Braille. She lives with her husband and four children in Riverdale, NY.

We do this by curating Jewish faith experiences with women at the center, by producing wide-ranging programming, and by amplifying and partnering with organizations in line with our values.
