A Different Moral to Our Stories
Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning
The Torah opens with four classic stories: Cain and Abel, the Tower of Babel, the fate of Sarah’s handmaiden, Hagar, and the binding of Isaac. Some of these narratives are quite troubling, some downright disturbing, and they all raise important questions for consideration. For example, can we view Cain and Abel as a story of brotherly love as opposed to brotherly disdain? Or, what does the story of Babel tell us about community and our engagement with technology? Join Rabbi Michele Faudem as we think outside of the box when looking at these fundamental Jewish stories.
