Records from the Cairo Geniza trove of medieval documents show that wealthy Jewish bankers petitioned the Muslim caliph at his court in the heart of high medieval Baghdad. In this talk, Jennifer R. Grayson will explain what these documents reveal about the lives of Jews in Baghdad at this time.
