Judaism Between Christianity and Islam: Where We Stand Today
Hosted By: Haberman Institute
Join Rabbi Burton Visotzky as he discusses current Jewish-Christian relations after Vatican II and Jewish-Muslim relations in the wake of the Abraham Accords.
In 1965, Pope John XXIII presided over the Second Vatican Council. Its document Nostra Aetate (in Our Time) led to a sea-change in Jewish-Christian relations. Rabbi Visotzky discusses these changes in light of his time teaching at and consulting with the Vatican.
More recently, Jewish-Muslim relations have taken a marked turn for the better. Visotzky has been a pioneer in forging ties with Muslim communities and their leadership worldwide. He will share his impressions of progress among Muslim countries thus far.
