No Place Like Home: Immigration Through the Eyes of Rabbi Sacks
Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning
Humankind has been on the move for a long time. We now know that all humans can trace their origins to Southern Africa. Migration is our shared human experience and usually involves facing great risk and uncertainty. In this class, taught by expert Melton teacher Lynne Lieberman, explore three parables offered by the late Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks in his book, The Home We Build Together, to think about how societies may integrate newcomers and how newcomers may develop a sense of belonging to the places they have migrated. Join us for this moving program on his second yahrzeit, on the Hebrew anniversary of Rabbi Lord Sacks’s passing.
