Redemptive Hope and Fulfillment: Inspiration for Your Passover Seder

Hosted By: Haberman Institute

The Exodus is Judaism’s master story of redemptive hope. This session will explore the question of who fulfills those hopes. Generally—but not exclusively—the Passover Haggadah depicts the fulfillment of these hopes as a result of divine actions. Discover the Haggadah’s views on this matter, giving special attention to passages that subtly point to the human role in the redemptive process. Sample a variety of other rabbinic texts on the Exodus that highlight the kinds of actions we must take to realize our hopes. The session will conclude with several suggestions for conversations at your Seder.
