Tisha B’Av as a Healing Journey Through Grief
Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning
Tisha B’Av is the saddest day in the Jewish calendar. It is the time when we remember catastrophe, brokenness, and many losses. But hidden within the day is the very beginning of a journey to wholeness that will lead us out of the depths and on to the spiritual peaks of the High Holidays. Melton teacher Rabbi Deborah Silver will explore multiple dimensions of Tisha B’Av—brokenness, exile, the spiritual significance of Jerusalem, and how the afternoon of Tisha B’Av marks both the deepest point of our grief and the starting point of our journey toward Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
