Organ Donation and Jewish Law

Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning

This program, led by Jewish medical ethics expert Rabbi Ari Perl, will explore Judaism’s approach to organ donation, including live donation and posthumous donation. It will address questions about cornea and tissue donation, circumstances where Jewish law might prohibit donation, and differences among major denominations. The session will also consider whether Jews should register as organ donors and the ethical implications of accepting donated organs.
