Hiding in Holland — My Father’s Story

Hosted By: Sousa Mendes Foundation

On this Father’s Day program, Dr. Shulamit Reinharz shares her father’s story of resistance and survival during the Holocaust. Her new book, “Hiding in Holland: A Resistance Memoir,” combines her father’s firsthand accounts with her explanations of the historical context. The story highlights a commitment to resistance, covering his religious youth in Germany, embrace of Labor Zionism, incarceration in Buchenwald, and flight to freedom in Holland, offering both historical insights and life lessons passed from one generation to the next.
