How to Tell Your Jewish Story: A Hey Alma Writing Class

Hosted By: Hey Alma

Hey Alma presents a two-hour class for anyone interested in writing their Jewish story, led by Vanessa Friedman, deputy managing editor of Hey Alma and MFA in creative nonfiction from Sarah Lawrence College. The class includes reading short pieces for inspiration, brainstorming, warm-up writing exercises, and prompts to start writing Jewish stories, with no requirement to share work. Open to all ages (18+) and writing levels, the class aims to help participants begin their essays and learn how to pitch them for publication, with an optional 30-minute Q&A session at the end.
