Photography as Resistance During the Holocaust

Hosted By: United Nations Outreach Program on the Holocaust

The United Nations Outreach Program on the Holocaust will host an online discussion about Jewish photographers who resisted Nazi dehumanization by documenting the horrific actions of the Nazis and their collaborators. The discussion will feature Valerie Hébert, a professor at Lakehead University Orillia; Christoph Kreutzmüller, a Berlin-based historian and curator; Daniel H. Magilow, a professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; and Janina Struk, a documentary photographer and author. The panel will explore how these photographers’ work serves as invaluable historical evidence and expressions of courage.
