Hidden Splendors: The Stunning Baroque Synagogues of Piedmont
Hosted By: Orange County Jewish Community Scholar Program ("CSP")
The Community Scholar Program will host a talk by Dr. Samuel Gruber on the synagogues of Piedmont, Italy, which were built over four centuries. These synagogues, often unmarked from the street and located within residential-type buildings, feature ornately decorated sanctuaries with Baroque and Rococo designs. In this talk, illustrated with new photographs, Dr. Gruber will explore these architectural treasures and their connection to the artistic and religious movements of their time.
