The Fritz Ascher Society for Persecuted, Ostracized and Banned Art will host a presentation by Kathleen Langone on German painter Otto Antoine (1865–1951). Known for his early artistic talent, Antoine began his career in civil service before studying with Impressionist painter Franz Skarbina at the Prussian Academy of Art. Despite joining the Nazi-controlled Reich Chamber of Culture to continue his work, he resisted Nazi ideology, and his cityscapes and landscapes were later included in the Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung, which showcased Nazi-supported art from 1937 to 1944.
