Q03
Think about a major milestone that happened with your family this past year. How has this affected you?
We don’t live alone. Some of us reside by ourselves. Some of us live with our families, or extended families, or roommates. In Judaism, there’s a notion that the personal is communal–what happens to one of us, affects us all.
Similarly, our lives are entwined together. We celebrate the moments that mean the most to us–birth, maturity, marriage and death–in both public and private contexts. What’s interesting, though, is that ours are the first generations where the focus of these celebrations has shifted from the public to the private sphere–from our community to ourselves and our families.

Q04. Describe an event in the world that has impacted you this year. >> |
10Q is a national project that asks people to answer a question a day online for 10 days during the High Holidays. It offers a new way for Jews and people of all backgrounds to slow down and reflect. Answers are emailed to a secure online vault just after Yom Kippur; next year, just before Rosh Hashanah starts, answers are sent back to participants and the whole process begins again.
