Everyone in the Jewish sphere of things, from Modern Tribe to the New York Times, seems to be rolling out Hanukkah specials and Hanukkah gift ideas. And why not? We Jews make up 2% of the American population, but we make up a much higher percentage of the your-overprotective-parents-want-to-do-something-nice-for-you population.
And now our favorite band of the month, the Los Angeles/Israel-based Fool’s Gold, is getting into the habit. (Read why we love them so much here and here.) They’ve already started throwing up free mp3 goodies, including wacky versions of their song “Surprise Hotel” mixed with Mariah Carey and a loungey remix of their wacky Hebrew love song “Nadine.” Starting on Hanukkah, though, they’re giving out different surprises on their website. (One promises to involve the band Of Montreal, which will doubtlessly encourage the Montreal/New York bagel war.)
Hanukkah
