In 2019, Hanukkah begins on the evening of Sunday, December 22nd with one candle. All candles are lit on the final night of Hanukkah which is Sunday, December 29th. The holiday ends at sundown the following day (December 30th).

Hanukkah is an eight day winter festival commemorating the victory of the Jewish Maccabees over the Syrian Greeks and the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem.
