Ayeola Omolara Kaplan
Ayeola Omolara Kaplan is an artist from Atlanta who uses a multitude of materials to assemble pieces that explore her multidimensional identity, class struggle, environmental sustainability, and spiritual principles. She creates an empowering and electrifying experience through her juxtaposition of portraits, vibrant colors, written language, and archetypal symbols. Ayeola’s artwork also serves as a liberatory tool that’s often used in the liberation campaigns of abolitionist organizations in Florida and Atlanta. As a “post-black” artist, she is someone who is not limited by her past, but inspired to redefine and transcend it.
