Essie Shachar-Hill

Essie was Keshet's summer intern through the University of Michigan School of Social Work. Through the Jewish Communal Leadership Program there, Essie is studying interpersonal social work with a focus on communities and social systems. In college, Essie was heavily involved in Jewish student life and was a leader for the queer Jewish group there. After college, Essie was a corps member in Avodah: The Jewish Service Corps, which solidified a passion for Jewish social justice work.
