Commentary on Parashat Bechukotai, Leviticus 26:3-27:34

scribe, bakes a depicting an aspect of the week’s Torah portion.

And ten women will bake your bread in one oven. (Leviticus 26:26)

וְאָפוּ עֶשֶׂר נָשִׁים לַחְמְכֶם בְּתַנּוּר אֶחָד

In the context of the Torah portion this is a curse, because ideally each woman would have her own spacious oven, but I couldn’t help but turn it into joyous sharing. Here are 10 women who have all baked a single raisin challah, together.
