A Conversation with Merle Feld

Hosted By: Applied Jewish Spirituality

Join acclaimed poet Merle Feld and Rabbi Daniel Silverstein in conversation about themes of Merle’s new book, Longing: Poems of a life, a memoir in poetry that tells stories of courage, resilience, survival, connection and meaning.

While these poems range across a wide field of human experience, we will focus our attention on writing as a spiritual practice and the power of friendship and connection to sustain and nourish the sacred. Reading the book in advance is encouraged to further enrich your experience.

Merle Feld is a widely published poet, award-winning playwright, peace activist, and educator who has pioneered teaching writing as a spiritual practice. Her prose and poetry, including her signature poem about women and men standing at Sinai, can be found in numerous anthologies and prayer books.
