A Hebrew Poetess on the Run: Freha Bat Yosef
Hosted By: Institute of Jewish Experience
Also known as Freha Bat Rabbi Avraham, Freha was a poet born in Morocco in the 18th century. She moved with her father and brother from Morocco, where things became unsafe for Jews, to Tunis. Then, in 1756 when the Algerians attacked Tunis, her father and brother once again moved but without Freha. After that, they never saw her again. Dive into the world of Freha Bat Yosef in this episode of the Institute of Jewish Experience’s Noble Women Series.
