An Evening of Sephardic Art Song

YIVO Institute for Jewish Research presents a lecture-recital exploring the Sephardic art song tradition within the Western classical medium. Dr. Lori Şen will offer an overview of Sephardic history, language, and culture, as well as the development and musical characteristics of this distinctive genre. The recital will feature performances by Zoë Johnstone Stewart (guitar) and Andrew Stewart (piano), highlighting works by composers such as Alberto Hemsi, Joaquín Rodrigo, and Yehezkel Braun.
