Hosted By: The Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life at Rutgers University

This two-part virtual book club will explore racial and ethnic “passing” in literature and the struggle of Black and Jewish Americans to feel that they belong. Professor Donavan Ramon will guide participants in a discussion of key themes in “The Human Stain” by Philip Roth and “Passing” by Nella Larsen and compare the two novels. The first session, on June 5, will focus on “The Human Stain.” The second session, on June 26, will focus on “Passing.”
