Book Launch: Reading Reform Responsa

Hosted By: CCAR Press

CCAR Press hosts a celebration for the release of “Reading Reform Responsa: Jewish Tradition, Reform Rabbis, and Today’s Issues” by Rabbi Mark Washofsky, PhD. The book examines the genre of responsa—rabbinic answers to questions about halachah (Jewish law)—and its historical roots in Reform Judaism, arguing for the movement’s fundamental basis in halachah. Rabbi Washofsky’s discussion on these themes will be facilitated by Rabbi Joan S. Friedman, PhD, the author of the book’s foreword.
