Childhood in Israel: Well-Being and Vulnerability
Hosted By: The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University
In honor of International Children’s Day, join Dr. Hanita Kosher for a discussion of childhood in Israel. How has the perception of children, and the meaning of childhood, changed throughout human history? What are the challenges facing children in Israel today, and how do these differ from other countries? Drawing on her experiences as a social worker, researcher, and director of Haruv USA, an international training center on child maltreatment, Dr. Kosher will explore the ways in which the social, religious and cultural contexts of Israeli society influence children’s well-being, the response to child maltreatment, and children’s experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
