Karen Kassap is a storyteller who uses hand-painted paper, photography, drawing, and text in English and Hebrew to create powerful color and texture imagery. Inspired to capture the elements of domestic motifs that define women’s lives, she illustrates in a vibrant palette the challenges of the feminine journey. Her work invites the viewer to appreciate pattern and movement as the variety of design elements combine to express a powerful message.

Shelley Werner, designer and award winning speaker, curates art that inspires, and interviews the Judaic artists behind these works to bring out fascinating stories. As a designer, Shelley’s deep understanding of art, creative spirit, and abundant energy drew her to Caron Glickman and Michele Doctoroff, who realized that as the Art Gallery Girls they could reach out to Judaic artists and provide them with a unique platform to share their art and stories with a worldwide audience. Shelley’s move to a Calgary at the start of covid to start a new chapter in her life has brought together a passionate Judaic art community that looks forward to their monthly gatherings.
