Exploring Jewish History and Art in the MFA’s New Judaica Gallery
Hosted By: Orange County Jewish Community Scholar Program ("CSP")
Hosted by the Orange County Jewish Community Scholar Program, this two-part virtual tour offers an in-depth look at one of the first Judaica galleries in an encyclopedic art museum. Curator Simona Di Nepi will guide participants through 27 recently acquired or rediscovered objects, including an Italian Renaissance Torah binder, an Iraqi Torah case used in India, and a Torah Ark from 1920s Chelsea, Massachusetts. The collection spans five centuries and four continents, showcasing the richness and variety of global Jewish culture.
