Four Creative Jewish Giants: A Conversation with David Denby and David Margolick

Hosted By: The New York Jewish Week, Congregation Rodeph Sholom

Leonard Bernstein, Mel Brooks, Betty Friedan, Norman Mailer.

Yes, those are four Jewish icons — but what do they have in common?

As longtime New Yorker critic David Denby writes in his new book, “Eminent Jews,” these four figures acted with a freedom that Jews had never experienced anywhere in history. They wound up changing life for American Jews — and American culture, too.

On Wednesday, May 28 at 7:00 p.m. ET, Denby will join journalist and author David Margolick to discuss the book, in a conversation with Sandee Brawarsky, former culture editor of the New York Jewish Week.

The event will take place live at Congregation Rodeph Sholom on the Upper West Side and will also be livestreamed for those outside of New York. All registrants will also receive a recording of the event.
