From a Polish Shtetl to Yiddish New York: The Life and Work of Artist Ray Faust
Hosted By: Yiddish Book Center (Amherst, MA)
Join curator Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett and Barry Faust (grandson of Ray Faust) for a conversation about artist and writer Ray Faust (1900–1993). Ray immigrated to the United States in 1920 from Poland, and her dedication to her Yiddish roots as well as her new home of New York City was evident in her work. This program is presented in conjunction with a new exhibit of Ray Faust’s work, opening at the Yiddish Book Center on April 16, 2023.
A collection of her paintings and drawings was donated to the Yiddish Book Center by her grandson Barry Faust.
