From Creation to the Flood: The Dual Foundations of Judaism

Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning

Melton will offer a course examining the foundations of Judaism as presented in the opening chapters of the Torah, led by Rabbi Dr. David Harbater, author of “In the Beginnings: Discovering the Two Worldviews Hidden Within Genesis 1-11.” In the lead-up to Simchat Torah, this course will involve a close reading of the text to uncover two narratives reflecting distinct worldviews on the nature of God, human beings, and more. The course provides a perspective on the beginnings of Judaism.
