Hanukkah Hallel Service: Creating Light in Darkness

Hosted By: My Jewish Learning

Beyond lighting the menorah, playing dreidel and eating delicious fried treats, what else do we do on Hanukkah?

We recite Hallel, literally meaning praise. This collection of Psalms is recited on days when we want to especially give thanks to God. In good times, this praise is joyful, natural and even raucous. When the world seems uncertain, how do we continue to offer up words of gratitude?  How do we transform this creation of light in darkness into more than a symbol?

Join My Jewish Learning and Rabbi Julia Andelman for a musical learners service. We will sing, read and reflect on the Hallel service and aim to bring light and hope into the new year.
