How a Jewish family in Nuremberg Confronted the Nazis

Hosted By: Jewish Study Center

Jeffrey Metzger’s paternal ancestors were among the most prominent families in Nuremberg since 1850 when Josef and Anton Kohn became the first Jews in 350 years to be accepted as Nuremberg citizens. Before World War II, his maternal family was one of Germany’s leading publishers of scientific research, including works by Albert Einstein. In this two-session presentation hosted by the Jewish Study Center, Metzger will discuss how his paternal Jewish family confronted the Nazi threat in Nuremberg during the 1930s and early 1940s.
