On Simchat Torah, we celebrate the Torah as we finish the yearly reading cycle and begin again with Genesis. In this session with My Jewish Learning, Dr. Tamar Kamionkowski will present the basics of Torah chanting, also known as leyning. Learn about the origins of the system, how the cantillation marks function as Hebrew punctuation, and how students can learn to chant.
