Is the “Evil Inclination” the Devil or My Teacher?

Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning

This three-part program with Melton educator Joe Septimus will explore the Jewish concept of the “evil inclination” or Yetzer Ha’Rah, examining its role as both a feared entity and a motivator for growth. Participants will study a variety of texts to understand the circumstances when the Yetzer Ha’Rah appears and the diverse opinions on its value. The program aims to shed light on why this concept is both central and controversial in Jewish thought.
